About Ashwamegh

“Ashwamegh Srijan is a unique Sports Welfare initiative by Lakshya Foundation being a first of its kind multiple sports platform.”

Ashwamegh Srijan is a unique Sports Welfare initiative by Lakshya Foundation being a first of its kind multiple sports platform. This project is driven by the motto of “passion for sports” and provides continuous support and expert guidance for children who are looking at a professional sports career. Every sports aspirant deserves a chance to achieve their dream. And that’s exactly what we at Ashwamegh are all about.

Ashwamegh Srijan is supported by some eminent sports enthusiasts like cricketer R.P.Singh, V.V Singh, Santosh Suri, A. Mishra and many more seasoned mentors. Working towards the overall development of youngsters in various disciplines of the sport, Ashwamegh organizes a range of sports events like workshops, matches, camps, felicitation ceremonies and marathons to name a few.

Venturing out with its sporting goal of “mission 1000 kids” the Aswamegh Srijan program launched in 2016 and is headquartered in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Since its launch the project has successfully organized sports events, distributed kits and sports equipment, nutrition and proper diet and expert coaching for children in each respective sport. With this mission we at Ashwamegh hope to scout out the hidden young talents in all sport genres from schools, colleges and universities across Uttar Pradesh, nurturing and building up their skills to compete at international levels.

THE IDEA – “MISSION 1000 KIDS”

The Project “Ashwamegh Srijan” is not just meant for the most talented players; it will give all players, with abundant or limited talent, the chance to play and train to the International Standards. At the same time, the most promising talents must be identified and trained in a structured manner so as to utilise the efforts of the coaching fraternity more effectively.

Our initiative is to scout 1000 talent, identify, coach, nurture, take care and provide a beautiful sporting culture to all the enrolled kids. We here as a team of mentors would like to introduce scientific methods in terms of training, diet, mental strength, course strength, identifying weaknesses and assets of individuals and scouting such hidden talent in remote parts of the town and further giving international and national exposures after developing their individual skills in a proper and scientific approach and further provide them with the complete means and methods required for their motivation to dedicate themselves to sports for fruitful results.

WHY SPORTS?

Access to sport and physical activity is a fundamental human right. ‘Sport’ has the unique power to attract, mobilize & inspire. By its very nature, sport is about participation & involvement but most importantly it stands for human values such as respect for the opponent and fellow players, acceptance of binding rules, teamwork, discipline, ethical/moral values & fairness. Each of these values is relevant to the holistic development of children and youth, building blocks for a strong, responsible and healthy community in the near future.

Effective sport-for-development programs combine sport and play with other non-sport outcomes to achieve the desired development objectives. The focus is not on mass participation or performance in elite sport. This requires a purposeful, professional and socially responsible intervention that is tailored to the social and cultural context. Sport is under-utilised as a development tool and should be an integral component of anycomprehensive development program.

WHY UTTAR PRADESH ?

THE UPPER EDGE: Uttar Pradesh has a genetic advantage over many States in terms of physical and body structure which is an important and must in every sport. The issue that is plaguing the UP sports fraternity is that we are unable to identify the talents at its infancy to own it, nurture it and to give it an opportunity so that it can shine like a bright star in front of the World and make our country proud.

DEMOGRAPHICAL ADVANTAGE: Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh with a population of more than 2.186 million with satellite towns like Kanpur, Sitapur, Barabanki, Hardoi, Faizabad etc. with similar or more populations. The Satellite towns and Lucknow have a great tradition of conventional and local sports.
We as a State have Potential to produce 100’s and 100’s of such sports stars for our country. The culture of sports inculcates in an individual essence of pride and sportsmanship and many such qualities which she or he keeps as an asset for his her future journey and success in life.
